(LONDON DAILY MIRROR) — A film banned in the UK for more than 20 years for showing Jesus being seduced on the cross has finally been given a certificate.
Short film Visions of Ecstasy is the only film ever to be banned in Britain on the grounds of blasphemy.
The film, which depicts St Teresa of Avila sexually caressing the figure of Christ, was originally refused a rating because it was thought to potentially fall foul of blasphemy laws.
